The Poker for Charity Challenge for Telethon 2012 series has got off to a flying start, with an impressive 57 player first Challenge seeing a great prize pool in excess of $10,000!

With a guaranteed $4,000 Macau poker trip of a lifetime up for grabs to the winner, in addition to cash payouts to the top 10% of players, we expect the PoCA Challenge Series to grow very quickly, which will see even bigger prizes to our winners!

We started with 67 players on day 1 at South Fremantle Football Club, this number dwindling to 23 headed into day 2 at the Albion Hotel.

Of those final 23, the final table of 8 got in the money, and we saw for the first time at WAPL a chop on final table between the final 4 players. Colin Wilford, Ryan Dyson, Darren Mundy and Mathew Lyons (Team WAPL Macau x2) split to take $3000 each, and played it out for the remaining $718 1st place, which Darren won with his pocket aces!

Congratulations on another great Grand Final, and as always thanks to our dedicated staff for putting on another fun and professional event for our members!
