Jay Zanoli wins S15 Pro Grand Final & Wade McCarroll wins Free!

After a massive 2 day of Pro Grand Final, Jay Zanoli has emerged victorious from a starting field of 77 in what may be called the best final table play-off seen so far in WA Poker League history!

It all started when the bubble player (Trevor Rozario) was knocked out by Luke Dick. Both had Ace Queen off-suit, and Luke managed to deal himself 4 hearts for an Ace high flush, securing his place in the money and arousing a great cheer from the other 7 remaining players! Trevor played a great tournament and held the chip lead briefly at the last 2-3 tables. As a player who has graduated from the Free League into regular Pro events, his WAPL history is a great one to follow! Bad luck Trevor and well done on making 9th place.

Our final table saw some great play by very skilled and well known individuals, consisting of Robert Ray, Jay Zanoli, Malcolm Mills, Terresa Teale, Darren Mundy, Season 1 Grand Champion Robyn Ivankovich, S15 Pro 2nd place Luke Dick and WAPL Team ANZPT Adelaide 2011 member George Lawther.

After a day filled with way too many pocket pairs than you'd ever expect, and some great plays and laydowns, we ended the day with Jay Zanoli besting Luke Dick for the title of Season 15 Grand Champion. Congratulations Jay!

The placings -

1st - Jay Zanoli

2nd - Luke Dick

3rd - Robert Ray

4th - Robyn Ivankovich

5th - George Lawther

6th - Darren Mundy

7th - Malcolm Mills

8th - Terresa Teale

The Season 15 Free League Grand Final consisted of 58 players, and saw a great field of our regular free members battle it out for the fame of being Free League Champion. Regular Woodvale and Boat player Wade McCarroll topped Andrew Sebastian at the end to take out the Free Grand Final. Congratulations to Wade, Andrew, and the rest of the Free League players for such a great Final and day!

The placings and photos from both Grand Finals will be up in the Season 15 event results shortly.

We hope you had a great couple of days, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Season 16, starting immediately on Monday with Pro and Free at the Paddo! We have some very good changes for the 16th WAPL Season, so keep an eye on the news for these, and spread the word!
