Well, here it is, what you've all been waiting for!

Western Australian Poker League Season 1 Pro League Grand Final!

When : Saturday 2nd September, 2006. Registration for qualifiers 11:30am-12:30pm. It is very important to get registered before 12:30, as our timing for this event is critical. If you are late to register, you forfeit your seat, no buts. At 12:30, any seats not taken by qualifiers will be open to other members, starting from those closest to 240 ranking in Pro League.

Where : Alma Venville Recreational Center, Eighth Ave Maylands. (Just East off Guildford Road, on the left, behind the library.) Plenty of parking available!

Buy-In : $100 as voted by the vast majority of our member base. Must be in the top 240 Pro League players at the end of this week (Sunday) to qualify for a seat. $90 to Prize Pool, $10 to CanTeen, our official charity for the Grand Final! Any players from the 240 qualifiers who do not show up on the day will have their seats taken by members ranked closest to the 240. (241 and down).

There will be Food and Drinks available throughout the day, including alcohol.

We are proud to announce CanTeen as our charity for our Grand Final. We're sure you've already heard about them, but they are an Australian organisation dedicated to supporting young people living with cancer (12-24yo) and those closest to them. There will be fundraising for CanTeen taking place during the day, so please support such a worthy cause should you have the means.

We are happy to confirm that this first season has gone much better than even we expected! Although it won't be confirmed till the end of this coming Saturday's Pro League event, our Grand Final Prize Pool will definitely exceed $60,000! This makes our 1st Season Grand Final already the BIGGEST Prize Pool Texas Hold 'Em Tournament in Western Australia, and guarantees that Season 2 and future Seasons will just keep getting bigger!

We will be paying out top 24 places, and when the prize pool is finalised, we shall update the site with proper percentages and figures!

Please be aware of the following for the Grand Final on Saturday 2nd!

• This event is licensed and restricted to ages 18+
• You may be asked to show ID at the door to prove your age
• You must bring your WAPL Membership card (New or Temporary) in order to gain entry for you and any guests to the event
• There is a ruling of NO headphones for this event and other WAPL events. We're a social league, and would like to keep it as such. Headphones cause problems with the gaming, the interaction between players, and potentially much worse
• The table areas will be cordoned off, and spectators MUST stay out of these areas. The only people inside the areas will be active players seated, and WAPL Staff
